Hong Kong ¨C May 16, 2008 ¨C NEC Hong Kong Limited proudly presents its two DLP projector models, the NEC NP100 and NEC NP200, which have been designed specifically with the requirements of small to medium-sized enterprises as well as the education sector. An attractive package of performance, economy and price are their key features. The projectors' energy consumption is an economical 228 Watts and they are also highly reliable. The NP100 and NP200 are the only projectors of their class currently on the market offering a lamp lifetime of 3,500 hours during normal operation (4,000 hours in Eco mode). With a brightness of 2,000 ANSI lumens (NP100) and 2,100 ANSI lumens (NP200) as well as SVGA (NP100) and XGA (NP200) resolution, they also guarantee outstanding image quality. Coming equipped with a unique security feature ¨C a remote control integrated into the housing, which also functions as a removable control panel - this provides additional protection for the projectors against unauthorized use.

The operating costs of a projector as well as its purchase price are an important consideration for any small to medium-sized enterprise. NEC has therefore developed the NEC NP100 and NEC NP200 to offer both an attractive price-performance ratio and a particularly low operating cost. Requiring a maximum power consumption of 228 Watts (7W in stand-by mode) the projectors are particularly energy efficient. In addition, users can employ the projectors for long periods without any concerns, since the lamp's lifetime is 3,500 hours, extending to 4,000 hours in Eco mode.

"These two new mobile projectors bring a practical solution to users looking for a high performance, yet cost-effective, model," said Pete Van Kessel, General Manager for DLP projectors in Japan. "The NP100 and NP200 are perfect for small offices, home offices and growing businesses looking for a bright, easy-to-use, portable projector at an affordable price."

The NEC NP100 and NEC NP200 guarantee the best image quality in bright ambient surroundings, whether in meeting rooms and classrooms or in smaller offices. This is due to their 2,000 ANSI lumens (NP100) and 2,100 ANSI lumens (NP200) brightness, SVGA and XGA resolutions, as well as contrast ratios of 1,200:1 and 1,300:1. They can also project images to distances ranging from 1.2 metres to 12 metres away. A colour wheel with five (NP100) and six segments (NP200) also ensures brilliant colour reproduction.

NEC Display Solutions has equipped the models of their entry series with a set of practical features to ensure maximum comfort and ease of operation. The NEC NP100 and NEC NP200 models allow manual correction of vertical keystoning up to 40 degrees, and also possess optical zoom capability to allow flexible positioning of the equipment anywhere within a room. Furthermore, the two new NEC NP projectors come with analogue input and output connectors, audio-video connectors and also various audio functions.

Portability is often required for smaller offices and educational institutions. Weighing only 2.3 kg, the NEC NP projectors can be conveniently transported from room to room. The projectors are very portable but can be installed using the optional ceiling mount kit. For added security the remote control key pad can be detached from the body of the projector preventing un-authorized use as access to the major projector functions is denied.
